.....for a few months at a least! I'm modest aren't I!?! ;)
Last night was it - the last Tuesday working behind the bar for a few months. It's been a fun 5 years with everyone! Thank you to all of my regulars and friends for making the last night so special.......Ben, Tucker, SANDZ, Mike & Mike, all of my bowlers, Antonio, Lauren, Amanda, Becca G, Head, Jules, Brother Craig, Becca and the guys from SVFD, Tom & Lisa and everyone else that has stopped by to say Hi over the last few weeks. It's been a pleasure serving you and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again in a few months......with me behind the bar that is - I'll see most of you in the next few days! HA!
Happy Hump Day everyone! Play Balls!

Sunday!
Today was a good day - despite the Wizards losing Game 4 at home and Jimmie Johnson barely pulling out a top 15 finish at Talladega!
It started out at Omia's for breakfast with the girls because Brandi was in town from Kentucky for her sister-in-laws baby shower. It is always fantastic to see her - especially when it's been a year and a half! She brought lots of baby goodies with her! I'm happy to say even though our little girl isn't here yet - she already has her first pair of NIKE's!! Thanks Brandi!! It was great to see the other girls as well - it's hard to get us all together with our crazy schedules. Speaking of schedules - for those of you that know and love our little firefighter Becca - you know it's hard to make plans with her since she is very busy working and volunteering for the Loudoun County and the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company. Well I learned today that all of her hard work and dedication was recognized by VA Governor Tim Kaine himself. She was awarded a 2008 Governor's Community Service and Volunteerism Award!!

WOOOHOOO!! GO BECCA!!!!
After breakfast I hit the mall with my sister-in-law Melissa and her little girl Kiara. I got my first dose of crusin' around the mall pushing a stroller while trying to avoid pretty much everything in my path. After kicking the wheels a few times I realized that this was going to take some getting used to. I think I'll have to take my stroller out for a few trial runs! HA!!
I went to "the hole" later on to watch what I hoped would be a series tying game between the Wizards and the Cavaliers but once again the boys let me down. They gave it a pretty good effort but clearly not good enough. We still have a shot of moving on to the next round.....I mean they only have to win 3 in a row - 2 of which will be in Cleveland. Not totally impossible.......... DEAR CRAZY!!!
Dinner with the hubby and friends was a perfect ending to the day. Back to work tomorrow and then the last shift on Tuesday Night (just a reminder). ;0)
Hope you all had a good weekend!

33 weeks!!
33 weeks down.....5 to go! Can you believe it? I sure can't! This week she has passed the 17 inches mark and should weigh just over 4 pounds - the same as a pineapple. I haven't called Norma yet to let her know as I'm trying to figure out what kind of fruit I'm going to get off of the salad bar for myself this week. I eat A LOT of pineapple - both pre and during pregnancy but with my mother refusing to eat whatever food the baby is the size of for that week - I don't know if I can bring myself to do it either.
We went to the doctors this week for a check up. Not nearly as exciting as the last visit but that's a-ok with me. Both baby and mommy-to-be are doing great and right on track. :)
Hope you all have a great weekend!

And then there was 1.......
1 more shift - that's all I've got left (for a while anyway) and we're all hoping that next Tuesday is nothing like tonight was. I've gotta say - after the CAPS won game 6 - I was pretty pumped that there would be a game 7 - a) because that's my team and b) it was on my shift to help bring in business......I was NOT however - ready for the madness that ended up showing up. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE being busy (for obvious reasons) but my preggo a$$ struggled to keep up for a little while there. We had a few mishaps......which I am happy to say weren't my fault.....a few broken liquor bottles, an exploding sink and tvs being turned off in the middle of overtime of game 7 does not equal a happy Kristen. One unlucky soul got to see the ugly side of my preggo hormones and was kicked out but that will hopefully teach him not to scream the F bomb more than once and then argue with me about it. Sorry buddy - I will always win that game! ;0) Dear Crazy.........
Thanks to everyone that was there tonight.....you kept me sane! Hope to see you all next week too! Good night!

32 weeks.......
Sorry everyone - Yesterday was a crazy and I never made it on to the computer to update the size of the baby! I heard from a few of you so people are actually reading this blog!
So- at 32 weeks pregnant - the baby weighs roughly 3.75 pounds - which is the same as a large jicama - also known as a mexican potato or mexican turnip. Norma was happy to hear this as the jicama is not anywhere in her weekly menu plans so nothing had to be changed at the last minute! :) Dear crazy......

Gone Baby Gone (and Happy Birthday)
Happy Birthday Antonio!! Now I am officially 54 weeks older than you - thanks again for always pointing that out! ;)
For those of you that know Antonio - we have all (ESPECIALLY Lauren) been waiting for this day since he told us months ago - when his beard started to grow uncontrollably - that he would shave on his bday. He stayed true to his word and the old Antonio is finally back. That beard is GONE BABY GONE!! Can't believe he kept it as long as he did! Dear Crazy........

"true story"
i went to the doctor today for another check up - always a fun time (not really). sorry if this is too graphic but i feel it necessary to mention that this big belly of mine has found yet another thing to make difficult. it's bad enough that i can't tie my own shoes at the bowling alley so ben has to do it while our fellow bowlers chuckle at the sight - but then today having to leave my urine sample for the nurse was almost impossible! i will admit i have never mastered the task of peeing in a cup without taking a little peak at what i'm doing and now i don't have a choice as the belly has grown to the point of blocking any view i hoped to have had - and it's only going to get worse. :(
moving on - now that i really have your attention..... believe it or not this is not the point of the post......the doctor came into my room while reading my chart - she says "your weight is perfect, your blood pressure is perfect and (while looking at my newly manicured toes) your feet look GOOD"! For those of you that have seen my feet in the last few weeks - this was fun to hear as they have been HUGE! she told me to lay back so she could measure me and listen to the heartbeat. this is how the conversation went:
dr: (while measuring) - the baby is a good size
k: so you can really tell the size of the baby just by measuring my belly?
dr: pretty much
k: alright - how big do you think she is?
dr: a good size - getting big
k: fantastic
dr: (while laughing) spoken by a woman who has never given birth before!!
k: (embarrassed & laughing) oh - true story
dr: by big - i just mean that she could be a little ahead of schedule
the doctor is cracking herself up at this point telling me that she's never heard "fantastic" from a patient after telling them that the baby is getting big! in my defense - i just liked the sound of it since we're scheduled to be induced early and i didn't want to hear that she was small. i mean really!! ;) dear crazy.......
btw - heartbeat is regular and all in all - i as well as the baby are in good health. :)

1 down - 3 to go!
so after 5 years of being the tuesday bartender at the sterling glory days - AKA "the hole" to those that are in the cool club - i only have 3 more shifts before i take myself a little break to have a baby! after a long shift last week i finally broke down and just picked an end date - i was afraid if i didn't - i would just keep working and possibly just pop her out at the restaurant and that's got to be some kind of health code violation. ;) anyway - so april 29th it is! the last shift for a while. for those of you that don't come in often - try to stop by one of the next 3 tuesdays. for those of you that do - keep it up!
i do plan on returning and taking tuesday nights over again - who knows - maybe i'll get lucky and they will change the uniform while i'm gone and i won't have to wear puke - i mean duke blue anymore!!!! one could only hope......dear crazy........

most popular question
ok - so maybe it's the 2nd most popular question behind "how's the baby?" - to which i've started answering "i don't know - she doesn't talk yet" is......"what size is the baby this week???"
i get an email every saturday with an update on the size/weight of the baby based on the week of pregnancy - this past saturday we hit 30 weeks and she is now the weight of a head of cabbage. the funniest part about getting these emails is calling the rents to update them on the size of their future grand-daughter and hearing my mother tell me that she won't eat that food until she gets the next update. she was mortified the week when she was the size of a sweet potato as she had just bought some for dinner that night! hahahahaha! dear crazy......
i'll update this every week so stay tuned!!

1st Post
So after much encouragement from my sister - I have created a blog to keep those interested in the going ons of my life updated! Not much to tell at the moment - I have a feeling this will be a lot more exciting come June when the baby arrives!
Speaking of my sister - she and Todd ran in the Cherry Blossom 10 miler yesterday down in DC! It was her first 10 mile race and now she is apparently signing up for a 1/2 Marathon in Baltimore this October. Dear Crazy........
Congrats you guys! I'm proud of ya! Your new niece and I will have to try to make it to Baltimore to cheer you on for this one. :)
